Since Passkeys are a new technology, confusion around how best to use and access them is normal. We share some of Evergreen’s best practices below to ensure you have a seamless experience using your passkeys across all your devices, regardless of their interconnectivity.
Creating Multiple Passkeys
Once you first login to your new Evergreen account, it’s best practice to:
- Create a passkey on all the devices you anticipate using to access your account
- Navigate to Settings, then Passkey
- Click “Add Passkey”
You can create a passkey using the following methods:
- Fingerprint
- FaceID
- Device Pin or Password
- External Security Key
- Google Password Manager
- Other Password Managers
Naming each passkey within the Evergreen app to identify which device it belongs to
- Navigate to Settings, then Passkey
- Select the Passkey you would like to edit by clicking “View Details”
- Once selected, under the nickname click on the edit icon
- Edit to the name you would like and save
Many devices, like Apple devices, store passkeys seamlessly across every Apple device. If you intend to login to your account only on Apple devices, you need only create a passkey once. If signed into your Apple devices with an Apple ID, your passkey will be stored on your iCloud Keychain.
But what should you do if you have, for example, an iPhone and Windows PC or a Mac and an Android phone?
